Day 14 - 2 week mark!

So, as I thought, I did fall off of my diet. I did however have some physical exercise for the last 2 days. I am going to get back on the fasting diet, I think it will be easier when I'm not on Spring Break :) So today, Wednesday and Friday are my fasting days, and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday are my eating days. But have planned to just do basic toning excerises on my fasting days and cardio on my eating days. I haven't had a chance to way myself but will after class today. Hoping my weight hasn't gone UP.

Day 10!

So, it is day 10 of my Alternate Day Fasting Diet and I think I've hit a plateau! I have not lost anymore weight, but good news is I haven't gained it back!

Yesterday was the first day I "exercised" I went to a Zumba class for an hour but I wouldnt say that it was an intense workout. I changed my eating and fasting days this week (week 2) so that I could go to my weekly workout class. I find myself having very little appetite on my days I can eat, but forcing myself to eat at least 2 meals. I think that's one of the main reasons you lose weight, your stomach is shrinking.

After telling a few people about my diet, they are almost lecturing me about how unhealthy it is, but actually there are studies proving that it is healthy. Alternate-day fasting is appealing because it lets you focus hunger in manageable periods—instead of being a little hungry all the time, you're very hungry a little of the time. This diet can help lower blood sugar, decrease risk in heart disease, and even decrease the risk in Type 2 Diabetes!

Today is my fasting day and I am pretty hungry! I think it's because I know I can't eat! And the days I can eat, I'm not hungry! Ahh!

Starting tomorrow, the days I am allowed to eat, I will be working out. I will mainly be focusing on toning, but I think I will have at least 30 mins of cardio. And on my fasting days, I will do some toning excerises and no cardio!

Day 7

So here comes Day 7 to an end! My current weight is 134.5 pounds, so almost 6 pounds lost in 7 days with NO exercising! I've learned to control my hunger on my fasting days. I mean, I'm still hungry, but not to the point where I can't stand it or feel sick to my stomach. I mean Gandhi did it for 3 weeks, I can atleast do it one day!

Day 5

So, this is day 5 of my alternate day fasting. And my current weight: 136! Yep, that's right I've lost 4 pounds!

I know that will flucuate since today is my eating day but I'm happy with the progress! I have not done any excersing! On my eating days, I have not gone crazy and just eat, eat ,eat! On my eating days, I try to plan 3 meals and eat until I'm not hungry anymore. The first day, I ate as much as I could so I could cover for my fasting day, but that's not the way it works!

On my fasting days, I get pretty cranky especially when people around me are eating yummy food. But I do eat A LITTLE on my fasting days. For example, on both fasting days, my tummy started growling so I eat half a nutrigrain bar ( I know it's very little but chewing and eating a little tricked my tummy and mind and I was able to suffice). I also ate a little bit of meat, so no carbs on my fasting days.

I will be working this whole weekend which I will be walking around for hours, so that will probably help me burn some extra calories!

I'll keep you guys posted! :)

Alternate Day Fasting- Day 1

Lately, Ive been hearing about ADF (Alternate day fasting) meaning you eat anything you want for one day and then the next day, fast (eat nothing) or eat very little and you repeat this cycle. At first I was a little weary, but after reseaching it I have found information that it can actually improve your health. You trick your metabolism to burn fat at a much higher rate. After looking at all of the studies, I see that must studies have been on obese people, so I thought, I would try it and record my day to day results. I plan to do this diet for at least 2 weeks and depending on results and mood, decide to keep going with it.

A little about me: I'm 5'4" and weight ranges from 130-140- pounds. I'm not very active but I try to do kind of physical activity at least once a week. I go to Zumba once a week and anytime it's nice I try to go hike or play tennis.

So here it is Day 1: 2/27/2012, weight: 140
